We cannot look to Spokane’s exciting future on the riverfront without exploring the rich past that shaped this special place, from the Native Americans, to the lumber trade, to the railroads and beyond.

 

To explore these stories, signs will be woven invitingly throughout the park to serve as the storytellers of the riverfront and the history of Spokane. These stories, in print, braille and digital app will keep our shared past alive for generations to come. We anticipate several locations, each one highlighting one of the park’s treasured historic moments, places or icons.
